About Martine Luijten

Martine Luijten mainly handles general criminal cases, both large and small. These include, for example, cases involving suspected violent offences, crimes of a sexual nature or property damage and theft. Martine also assists individuals who are suspected of an offence under the Road Traffic Act or the Drugs Act. In addition, she regularly assists police officers who have come into contact with criminal law.

If clients are eligible, Martine assists them on the basis of legal aid provided by the government. She also provides legal assistance on a paying basis.

Education and career

Martine graduated cum laude with a degree in International and European law from Tilburg University. After graduating, she gained legal work experience at The Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, the International Criminal Court and as a legal assistant at our firm. Martine also worked as an adviser at Reclassering Nederland (Dutch Probation Office) for a year and a half. As a result, she is in an ideal position to provide clients with expert advice in relation to forensic care and counselling, behavioral investigations by forensic psychiatrists and psychologists and the tbs (hospital order) measure.

In the register of areas of law of the Netherlands Bar, Martine is registered as a specialist in criminal law.

Martine obtains a minimum of ten training points in the field of this specialisation every calendar year according to the standards of the Netherlands Bar.
